Next Brush?

Okay, RAD hit me pretty hard but I only have three brushes. One is a pure badger from C&E, and it is okay. I shaved with it yesterday, and the two band finest knot-from-the -Nib restored Ever Ready I got back from Mike blows it way. My other brush is a VDH boar that was part of the starter set they sell at Wally World.

I'd like to have another brush like my restored Ever Ready, in terms of softness and quality. What am I looking at?

Those knots are really pretty exceptional. From all I've asked, there are few brushes with the resilience of those knots and their softness. Simpson's 2 band and Rooney Finest are probably stiffer, but definitely not as soft from what I've heard.
Rooney Super and Simpson's Best and Super don't seem to be as soft either.
The only thing I've heard that is similar seems to be the Rooney Heritage hair. I know people love all these high end brushes, but for someone looking for very soft AND very firm, one of these knots set at a 45mm loft is just perfect. Mine doesn't even feel prickly when I directly poke the tips of the badger hair at my face (this is only after 10 or so uses)!

It depends on how bad your RAD is. I have had a Simpson, Rooney, and Shavemac. They are all very good. But, when I bought a Plisson 14 High Mountain White from a member here that was it. I absolutely love it. I do admit, however, that your RAD has to be really extreme to make the jump. Good luck.
