newbie on restoring......need advice!

Hello all. Well the brush/razor restore bug bit me and I need some help. I ordered two older Ever-Readys that appear to be in pretty good shape. I plan on ordering knots from The Golden Nib but beforehand I want to focus on the handles. One of the handles is a turquoise upper with a white lower seperated by a chrome ring. The white portion appears to be quite yellowed (Bakelite possibly) and I was curious if there was some "magic potion" that could help restore it. I'm sure I'll have more questions the further along I get and when they are delivered in a few days I'll take pictures and let y'all see what you think. Thanks in advance for the help.

I purchased Flitz plastic polish (http://www.amazon.com/Flitz-Plastic-Fiberglass-Polish-Restorer/dp/B000MN88NQ/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=automotive&qid=1270582941&sr=8-1) It works wonders on the plastic handles :thumbup1:

Yeah I had googled it and saw that Flitz seemed to be the gold standard for use on plastics. I'm going to swing by my neighborhood Ace and see if they are indeed "the place".
