Hello gentlemen,
I am a very casual cigar smoker. I maybe smoke a couple cigars a month and a few more during the summer months. Nothing like a good stogie out on the deck after a good BBQ, or camping sitting around a campfire. Decent cigars can get expensive up here in the great white north, and found I could get some pretty nice pipe tobacco that would give me 2 or 3 times as many smokes for the same amount of coin!
I have put off trying a pipe for quite a while as it always seemed to have a stigma about it - grandpa in the rocking chair is what comes to mind, but I have been lurking around this section of B&B for quite a while now, and the many pipe smokers on this forum have convinced me (without trying...) to give it a go!
Bought a cheap MM Cob pipe for my first one, and a nice aromatic mild blend from a local tobacconist.
The tobacco smelled really nice, and still gave off a great sent while burning, but the smoke itself did not taste as I expected. I expected it to be a bit sweeter. Still a very nice smoke - right down to the end.
I was a bit worried about packing it, but I checked a few videos online and think I did a pretty good job! Only went through a couple of matches! Stayed lit fairly well!
Cracked a nice beer to go with it!
All in all, very relaxing and enjoyable!
Thought I would share!
Cheers,
