New standard/improved... whats the difference?

Just curious if someone could explain the difference between the Gillette New Standard, and the New Improved... They seem to look really similar to me. Any guidance is appreciated... Thanks

They are the same razor. The razor itself is called the "NEW Improved."

A "NEW Standard" refers to a set that consists of a "NEW Improved" razor packed in a "Standard" case.

There are many other variations, as well. For example, a "Bostonian" refers to a set that consists of a "NEW Improved" razor packed in a "Bostonian" case.

A "Richwood" refers to a set that consists of a "New Improved" razor packed in a "Richwood" case.

...and so on.

So these names, "Standard", "Bostonian", "Richwood", etc. refer to different cases that contain the exact same "NEW Improved" razor. The distinction is that the name "NEW Improved" refers to the razor, the other names, "Standard", "Bostonian", etc., refer to the set.

It's very confusing, I know.

The New Standard = New Improved.

The New Improved was released in different sets;
Example- Bostonian, Richwood, New Standard.

The New Standard was a name of a set, but it is a New Improved Razor.

Look at the names in the cases of the pictures below;

Thank you guys SO much! You really cleared up a ton of confusion for me. So if I tell people I want to buy a New Standard, that consists of the New Improved in the standard case I see. Appreciate all the help!
