New Semogue Badgers

I came across this from another forum, but apparently Semogue has two new badger types: finest, and a new silvertip. I think the finest is available now (in Portugal), with the silvertip coming out later in the year.

Saw that over at DFS.com as well.

Will probably have to try that finest when it comes out. I just really love the 2-bands at the moment.

I believe the silvertip has been compared quite favorably to a shavemac D01 silvertip by one of the people who got to test the prototype.

Will be interested to see the price point on that one.

The finest is a prototype for a new limited edition called "Semogue Caravela". The handle will be different from that one, and it will feature a caravel (it's a type of boat) engraved on the wood handle. This brush will be a special numbered edition for the members of the portuguese (www.barbearclassico.com) and spanish (www.foroafeitado.es) forums.

The silvertip will feature... well, a silvertip knot, similar, it seems, in quality and behavior, to the Shavemac D01 range.

Yesforoafeitado.es and barbearclassico.com share a new edition of Semogue brushes, named caravela, Nuno, the admin of the portuguese forum and the admins of foroafeitado.es have developped the new brush using some desings of the handle that Semogue got. The brush of the pictures is a prototype for testing the knot, the handle of the "caravela" (the name of the new Semogue LE for the iberian forums) will be different

Darn, that handle is NICE. I really like that shape, same as my SOC.

Looks more like the 1305 to me - the top part is more rounded and stubby, whereas the SOC is a bit more angular and tall.

From Teiste's description, the Finest seems like a good choice. Soft, but with a firm backbone. Been using boar brushes so far, and I really appreciate a bit of backbone and not just softness all around...

Waiting for the final design, looks brilliant so far.
