Good choice of razor, I really enjoy mine. Never got along with Derby blades but have found Astras and Feathers to be a good combination with EJ89, YMMV.

A very nice razor indeed. It has possibly taken over from the 34C as being the standard benchmark. Certainly it is beautifully made and is excellent value. Enjoy.

I have some feathers to try as well if I don't like the Derby's.

The EJ89L (or the R89 with the alternate handle as I like to call it) is a terrific DE Razor.

Well gave the EJ a run last night'
Got my first nick
However will put it down to the fact that my beard would not be described as heavy nor fast growing.
I usually shave every 2nd day but had to try things out - the wife thinks it's great
