RAD Prevention

Let me preface by saying this post is for folks who think RAD is a real problem. Not for folks who thinks the cure for RAD is to buy more razors.

So I've been trying out a novel way to address RAD the last few weeks. It is based on a similar method men/boys have been using since time immemorial. If you're gonna go on a date where you know you're gonna score, it's best if you rub one out before leaving the house.

For the last few weeks whenever RAD strikes, I whip out my best razor, soap and aftershave combo and have a kickass session. When that's over I ask myself, can the new acquisition top that experience? If I'm unsure, I'll pause on the purchase. I soon realise that it reminded me of the amazing razors already in my den.

This method has gotten me through Black Friday fairly unscathed though I did buy a couple of Chinese razors yesterday so the method is not entirely bulletproof. As with everything wet shaving, YMMV.

Razor Acquisition Disorder is the sudden, inexplicable need to own every razor in existence. You convince yourself you’ll use them all, despite having only one face. You scour shaving forums at 3 am, debating the blade gap of obscure models. You ignore that drawer of unopened razors and keep the hunt alive. You attach deep meaning to handle shapes and packaging details. You stress about missing a limited release the same way others stress about rent. You blame it on a collector’s instinct when your credit card bill arrives. You realize you might need professional help when you start naming your razors. You second-guess this disorder for a moment, then get excited about the next product drop.

Does any of this sound familiar?

I just filled up my side of the sink and the medicine cabinet and bam problem solved. I no longer have room for new razors or shaving gear 😂😂😂🤣🤣🤣🥸 But yeah its definitely best to switch up soaps...maybe blades...maybe razors to try and get a good shave....I also have no desire to buy knockoff razors....My desire ends at good quality....USA/CANADIAN/EUROPEAN/JAPANESE razors and then call it good after that. After that if you're bathroom isnt full man you must have a big bathroom and at that point maybe a big rent/mortgage payment to make you feel bad enough to stop lol maybe
