What's new

New initiate to the Schick Injector.

I've recently been reading on the board about how great a shave you can get from a Schick Injector and how long the blades last. So I mosyed on over to ebay and bought 3 or 4 cheap ones. Couple of Model E and a G or two also an I. I wanted to get 3 or 4 shaves in before I posted here and the time has come. These are great little razors and they give an easy care free BBS shave. They almost take the fun out of my nightly shave.

With my DE being heavy and what I took a nice long time getting through my 3 pass shave. Smooth short strokes making sure not to cut my lip off...not so with the light little injector. It just whizzes around my face at previously unattainable speeds in every direction.

Now there is no way I'm going to let this little razor completely take over, but it has impressed me enough to earn a spot in my rotation. It also works wonders for shaving my head! I thought it would be too light but it glides along smooth and mows them hairs down in one pass!

If anyone is considering a Schick Injector I say go for it! I got one of mine for .99 cents. Blades can be found on amazon for $20 for 24 blades.

Oh and the obligatory YMMV!

Schick Saturday is when my injector comes out. Always look forward to using my adjustable, and since I use it (at least) once a week, I don't get tired of it.

I have a stable of Schick and PAL injectors now. They are all fantastic shaving razors. Hard to beat them.

I was a latecomer to single edge razors, but I enjoy using my Type G.

I picked up a G type 3 or 4 weeks ago, and have used it 5 or 6 days a week since. I've never used any razor that much, because I'm usually changing every day. Love it. (Also love my adjustable!)

I've been a 100% injector man since March 2012, got rid of my DE's with the exception of a Schick Krona, Fat-Handle & Ball-End Techs for my 4 y/o son. I don't ever get the urge to DE and even sold off my beloved Clog-Pruf, Micromatic Flying-Wing & Shovel-Head. Two-passes with an occasional touch-up is all I need for daily DFS shaves which is fine by me, I've always said injectors are the Sports car of the Single Edge Razors, fast & easy shaves don't take the fun out of a daily grooming need, but it does take away the worry of a nick, cut or razor burn, IME.

+1 to that. The pleasure of a good shave has little to do with the razor or even the blade (providing it hasn't gone dull) and nearly everything to do with building a thick, cushioning lather with some fine scented soap or cream, applied with a nice brush.

I love my Schick injector. Although I do not use it every day, it is in the regular rotation, and it is used to keep the mustache neat and tidy, something that I just could not do with the DE.

I agree the nice thick creamy lather is the key, but I still enjoy a nice slow shave with my DE as well as those quick injector shaves. I think the injector may end up being my go to razor for head shave though. I've had way to many skin removal sessions on the top of my head with the DE!

Welcome to injectors! Your right, they are a little too easy but great to use. If you can, try to get your paws on some P74 blades on Amazon. Then you'll really enjoy injectors:)

Not for me:

If I want something soft, warm and fine scented my wife's usually in the vacinity most mornings...

For Shaving My Razors And Blades Are What Matters Most.

I take great pleasure in shaving with high performance injector razors and blades that are so stinkin' good I can use $1.25 Williams shave soap and a $6.99 Van Der Hagen Boar Brush similar to the stuff most of our Fathers and Grandfathers used and get as fine a shave as I can get from software that's infinitely more expensive.
