What's new

New brush, you guys were right

So about a week ago I wanted to get a custom brush that I use primarily for soap, something that would be very soft on the skin but dense.

I ended up with this (Siv's original design, aka "Glass Jar"):

24mm Finest knot from goldenknib, loft set at 55mm by Rudy. Highly recommend him, excellent work!

Used it today and wow, exactly what I was looking for! It's incredible how soft it gets when it's wet!

Yup. I've tried Vulfix pure, Rooney Super, Kent Silvertip and Vintage Simpson's Super (or something like that) and none are as soft as the Goldennib finest when wet. This is simply an outstanding knot, no question about it.
That handle is sooo pretty, I kinda want one for myself.

Very cool! I'm super happy that the Glass Jar is gathering a following :001_smile Although I'm sure it's Rudy's work more than my design that is giving such a nice looking brush :tongue_sm

Looks good with the other brushes, this knot is great and one of my favorites, too - please enjoy for a long time.

very nice brush and an outstanding work by Rudy. I have my butterscotch that was restored by Rudy, the knot is as good as my Rooney Finest.

Ohhh man, as a big-handed fumbling goon... I am pretty sure You all just helped me find the larger handles I am looking for! Without the PJ2/3 prices.

PMs will be sent as soon as I'm not broke!

I really like the long handle, or maybe the other brushes are just too small. I think it's the perfect size for me and I really wouldn't want a smaller handle, it really feels good in my hand (I wear size L gloves).

What is it with guys that make high quality pens? How do they get into the shaving product stuff? Penworks is the same way....interesting...

I think it is called "diversification"
Since the economy went down early last summer, my pen sales have dropped off drastically, so I think it is only normal to look around and find other things that can be done. I am glad that I have not to live on this, I would be dead or in the poor house...

Well you certainly seem to be able to more than compete with the name brands and in come cases offer a superior product!
