What's new

New Blade - scary sharp!

I tried a new blade (to me) tonite, and man it was wicked sharp. The funny thing was, it wasn't a Feather. It was one I've seen Leisure Guy write about: the Bolzano. It was only one shave and one blade, and it was in my most aggressive razor (which is also my favorite, the iKon Bulldog). But it blew by most of the others I've tried for sharpness. FWIW I have tried the Feathers, but that was months ago when I had much less experience. I'm going to try them again, but in the meantime I had traded off some sharpness looking for smoothness. As my technique has improved since then, I think I'll revisit some of these blades. Anyway, if sharp is your object, you might want to try Bolzano.

I just used one in a Red Tip, and even though I'm sick and I had to fight a tremor in the hands, I got a great shave out of them.

The seem to be a bit sharper than the Shark. It'll be interesting to see if I get that "sharp stubble" effect that the Feather seems to give me.

I tried one from my sample pack earlier, very sharp, not quite as smooth as a Feather but one to consider as a bulk buy once my Swedes are used up or my Kai's finally arrive.
The Kai's did arrive (meh), will use them up then order some more Balzonos as they are IMO a far smoother shave, and probably just as sharp

Haven't tried this blade yet. I have a couple in the cabinet from a sampler, though. As a fan of both Feather and Shark blades, I now look forward to trying this - thanks for bringing it to my attention!

Too bad they are so damn expensive, though...
