We were talking the other day about how a new band can transform the look and feel of a watch.
I posted about this watch yesterday in the 'Watch Ya Wearing thread'. This was my dad's watch and he wore it in action in Vietnam as a US Marine. It is one of my most treasured possessions.
The original band bit the dust many years ago, and I had it on an old beat up Timex band until today. I went to my jeweler and had him put a dark brown lizard band on it. The buckle was gold, but he changed it out with a stainless one to match the watch.
Oh, and somebody asked about the "missing" crown in the other thread. It's there, just flush with the case when it's pushed all the way in. I didn't bother changing the date as the watch is non-quick set and the crown is tiny and not conducive to spinning around and 'round for a month's worth of days.
I've been wearing it all day and really like the new look. Growing up, this watch looked HUGE to me. Now it seems just the right size.
