Are these new reformulations? I've really enjoyed Black Suede for years, it's been around since 1980. It's sister fragrance, Black Leather is one I do not enjoy. To my nose, Black Leather smells like bug killer, a very Raid like odor. I think it may have been discontinued by Avon, haven't seen it in the catalog.
Every once in a while I'll pick up what I think is some type of soft leather/suede note from Black Suede. Perhaps it's just psycological.

I took the Black Leather and sprayed on a hornets nest in the backyard.

I've been eyeing the black suede leather for about a week now... Do you have both the original and the leather, so as to compare the two?

On a related note, which kinda crosses over with your "scents for high schoolers" thread; Have you tried Avon's Wild Country? It's the only fragrance I really wore in highschool. To put it into your words, it falls into the category of "deeper more earthy and spicy scents". Seemed to go over fairly well with the girls in school too

The cheapest way to try out the whole slew of the Avon fragrances IMO is to get the ASB's. They're usually on sale for $1-2 each, and to my nose they're all dead ringers for the ASL and colognes.

EDIT** Just noticed you're talking about cologne and not after shave. Disregard the banter below:

Black Suede and Wild Country are the only 2 after shave splashes in Avon's current inventory. Anything else will be a vintage scent.

Their balms are called After Shave condtioners, and come in most of their other scents. Never tried one of those. I might be able to pick up some next week. Visiting my Grandma who is a rep.
