I would avoid the Feathers if this is your first experience with a DE razor. Either of the others would be good choices as the are smoother but not as sharp as the Feathers. Personally, I prefer the Sharks to the Crystals. My favorite blades are divided into two categories.

• Sharp and relatively expensive- 1.Iridium, 2. Feather
• Smooth and relatively cheap- (tie) Derby/ Shark

I would avoid the Feathers if this is your first experience with a DE razor.

I guess that's a sound piece of advice. Still, my first ever DE shave was with a Feather in a Merkur 23 Long Handle Classic and I had no problems and loved it from the get-go.
