Need help in identifying vintage razor?

Hi Folks,

I am a newbie and bought this razor at a flea market - Gem brass old school razor. Can I get help identifying it and what do I use to repair the brass finish?

Gem Micro matic...very mid aggressive razor that takes these blades from Walgreen's or C VS.

Yeah! The famed OCMM. One of the best SE razors ever made. Built like a tank.

The brass ones were unplated, so you can probably clean it up with any brass polish. Brasso should work. Maas or Blue Magic, too.

The open comb Micromatic was made from 1930 until sometime in the 40's. A lot of them are gold plated, as seen in these ads.

You started pretty much at the top of the safety razor food chain. Nothing will shave you better than that micromatic. Pretty much my favorite razor. Put it flat on your face and ever so slightly bring it away. I'd recommend putting your pinky on the very bottom of the handle and not using any pressure at all.

Not a whole lot. Not being sarcastic they just are not worth a lot of money, but they sure do shave great.

They don't cost a lot, but are worth so much in the shave they give. One of the things that I dearly love about SE razors.
