Need an aggressive and quality DE

What is the best and most aggressive DE razor out there? I'm not trying to tempt the fates but I love a clsoe shave ala BBS.

I've been shaving with a DE for over 30 years. So I am an experienced shaver. My first DE was a Gillette TTO as a teenager. I currently own a Merkur Futur (it's always on level 6) and an IKON S3S. My blade of choice is the Feather.

Any suggestions?????

Muhle R41. That said, a Futur on 6 is a pretty aggressive set-up. Their comes a point of diminishing returns with the degree of efficiency. I prefer a nice relaxed zen-type shave and can produce a BBS when I'm in the mood (not often) with any of my razors; it just takes an extra pass or two with the milder ones. While not considered über-aggressive a slant can deliver a mighty fine shave.

I sent you a pm, I have an idea that might help us both

I dont think you could go wrong with a second generation Tradere open comb. These are fine shaving tools and are very capable of giving you a great all day shave.
That Merkur Futur of yours ought to do the job as well

Muhle R41 or Tradere OC are probably the more commonly available 'aggressive' razors available. It's difficult to really call any one razor the 'best'.

R41 with a few shims if you use the Futur on 6 and still find it lacking!
You might as well get into straights if you find all DEs a tad mild. Good luck.

Is the Red Tip considered an "aggressive" razor in the same category as the R41 or Slant? IMO, my RT has a similar blade exposure as the Super Speed but just a little heavier.

I use a Merkur Progress set on 5+, but unfortunately I can't compare it to anything else, as its my first adjustable. Before i was using an OC 1904.

Old open comb Gillette might do the trick.

Not quite on topic but a Gem micromatic is my go to if I want a safety razor with a little extra bite.

The red tip is considered more aggressive due to its added weight. Nothing to do with blade gap/exposure.

Red tip=heavy and thick beards
Blue tip=light to moderate beards
Blacktip=very light beards

I think good open comb say a gillette or a merkur should give you the shave you desire or strop up a valet auto that will do it ( I mean a close aggressive shave)
Smithy

As mentioned above Muhle R41. Even that progress in high settings can be aggressive R41 is more "comfortable" aggressive. Parker 22R (tto) is one option too. All vintage razors what I have are quite mild.
