Need advice- second brush

I've been wetshaving for 6 months, and have been bowl lathering with the Omega B&B Boar brush only. Recently I tried face lathering with Arko, and really enjoy it. All the time I've had the Omega, the handle seems a bit small. My hands aren't huge, but... Anyway, I'm thinking about a badger, with a good sized handle. Mostly for face lathering, but should still be good for the scuttle too. Handle material or color don't really matter. I use mostly soaps/ croaps. Budget is $50 or less.

I've seen the Edwin Jagger in Best Badger, would it be a good candidate? Or go with a Whipped Dog Best Badger 22mm with the Firehouse handle? Or something else completely?

Thoughts?

If you go Whipped Dog, I'd go at least 50mm with that knot size. My 24mm x 45mm feels too short but I really like even the "cheap" handle and the brush is really nice.

Talk to one of our local vendors here and have them make you one. That way you get exactly what you want. If you're not sold on a badger, get a Semogue Owner's Club (SOC). It's an awesome brush and will come in under your budget.

Ok which vendors do you recommend?

I'm in a very similar boat to the OP when it comes to finding a second "quality" brush. I love my B&BE Boar Brush, but I'd really like to try out a Silvertip badger to see if I like the difference. The only other brush I have is a Shea Moisture 100% badger brush, but it has zero density when it comes to bristle count and is VERY scratchy compared to my boar brush. I mostly face lather, but I am teaching myself to bowl lather. My soaps of choice are MWF, Mikes, Tabac, and C&E. I have a C&E cream, but I've never tried it.

I really don't want to spend more than $75 US dollars, and I'm not much of a fan of buying used brushes.

Shavetools offers the limited edition Semogue SOC 2012 mixed knot for fifty bucks.
The handle is extremely comfortable and the knot is excellent.

Well my dilemma is over! I just had a wonderful experience with Larry at Whipped Dog over an email conversation where he quickly answered my questions about the loft and tips on one of the brushes I was considering. Fantastic customer service even on a Sunday evening. I'm very excited for my future brush.

Gus-

Thanks, it looks as if the Simpson Colonel X2L is exactly what I'm looking for.

Anyone have other thoughts on it? Or how it compares to the Edwin Jagger in Best Badger?
