  • TOBS Avocado

  • TOBS Almond

My favorite TOBS scent is Mr. Taylor. With that said, I have a purchase on tap for some gear and wish to add a travel tube of TOBS to the bill. If my favorite is Mr. Taylor, what scent do you recommend that I go with next?

Caveat: I did not list Shaving Shop because I am familiar with that one.

Thank you and happy shaving!

I have only used 2 and they are both great. I've used 'sandalwood' and 'St. James'. I think you would enjoy the St. James.

I've tried out all their creams. For me, Sandalwood, St. James, Jerym St. and Eton College are my favourites. The Sandalwood is probably the best smelling sandalwood cream I've ever smelled.

Cheers,

M.

How about Coconut?

Ive bought their Coconut cream along with the Eton College and Jermyn Street creams. These were the standout scents for me from TOBS.

Travis.

My personal favorite is Jermyn Street which is a fougere fragrance as is Mr Taylor. However Eton College is a very nice as well.

If you want something different than Mr Taylor I would suggest Jermyn Street.

So forgive me for asking but, is Jermyn Street similar to Mr. Taylor or isn't it? I'm confused.

Thanks to all for every response and vote so far. If I am able to, I plan to purchase the top two selections as voted on from the community.

Thanks again,

Frank

Hi Lakebound,

I have the Sandalwood and the St. James, and really enjoy both.

IMHO:

The Sandalwood has a stronger scent. Also, it is not a simple, striaght forward sandalwood, there's a lot more going on there (lavender, herbals, and more)

St James has a bit less strength to it, but the scent is very clean, somewhat soapy yet citrus / oceanic to my nose.

I would not hesitate to get another tub when these eventually run out.

YMMV of course. :wink2:

I LOVE Eton College.... it is so fantastic to my nose, haha.... don't know if that wording makes sense, but yea.
Lemony citrus with soft and gentle earthy undertones.

if you like mr. taylor (as well you should; that was my first as well), then eton college or Jermyn st. (both which I have, both of which are great) will be redundant. you should go in a different direction. avocado, grapefruit, or sandalwood would be a good choice. I have all three. all are good performers, all three are good scents. if you had to get just one, avocado would be the one. it's a unique scent and a great perfomer, very distinct. but both of the others are totally legit. but either eton college or Jermyn st., though different from mr. taylor, are in the same class and not distinct enough to make a difference--which it sounds like you want to make. don't get me wrong, i'm not trashing any of them--I have them all, and I like all of them.

Thanks to all for the advice and the voting. I will be purchasing the top two vote getters this week.

I use both the Mr. Taylor and Jermyn St. I also use the Mr. Taylor AS Balm and Cologne and the Jermyn non-alcohol AS. The Mr. Taylor is an entire experience from front to back. The next up for me is the Sandlewood or the Coconut I am thinking.

Grapefruit by far is my favorite TOBS...love that citrus, refreshing scent. My second favorite is the Almond...I like the strong scent of the almond.

I just got through a tub of Rose and can say it was fanatastic. My wife loved the smell and it really lathered up nicely. I just recieved the Eton College tub and absolutely love this smell as well, the lemon smell is very light but noticable. I have also used the Sandlewood and must say that it is very pungent but in a good way.

I vote Rose!!
