Is there a place where I can just buy a handle for my 3 piece DE razor? Not looking for the expensive all stainless steel or anything. Just a regular chrome or brass or something...

would the fat tech handle with the DE89 properly?
I wish you would have posted this six months ago. Cooncat Bob made excellent handles for Gillette DE razors. Unfortunately he passed away last month. You could PM a mod for his family's contact information to find out if they have any of his handles left but I was under the impression that most of his business was one-off custom handles.
I know that I personally would love a BRW handle but I don't think this is the avenue through which to do it. The last thing his family wants/needs is a bunch of B&B members asking to purchase any leftover stock. I'm sure they're still in shock over his passing and could use some time to mourn.
I'd contact Edwin Jagger and see if they can provide a handle at a reasonable cost.
The Tech is tapped at 10-32, while the DE89 is a metric thread. They are close, but I don't recall if the metric screw fits the standard tapped hole, or vice versa.

I purchased a DE89 Barley chrome razor about a month ago. And last night I tried to change the blade and The head would not screw in the handle. The handle is defective where it should screw in to the top. It just keeps on turning but doesn't connect with the head.
Have you tried contacting the vendor where you got the razor? If that's not possible the maker of the razor itself should be able to help.

I actually contacted the company to see if they can replace it. thanks for the offer though. appreciate it.
Unfortunately I don't know the answer.
In response to the poster that thought contacting Bob's family wasn't such a good idea I would have to disagree. If the contact is made in a sensitive matter the family may appreciate someone buying one of his handles (if there are any left for sale). Funerals cost $10K minimum now and my understanding is that Bob wasn't super-wealthy (I did not know him personally but from his posts here this is the impression I received).
