Need a brush recommendation

I've been wetshaving for about two months now and have used a gillette synthetic for that time, but I want to upgrade to a "real" brush. I mostly use creams, my skin isn't that sensitive or anything, i have a pretty coarse beard. I'd like to spend less than 35 dollars. Any ideas? thanks

I have both a Tweezerman (yes, it's pure badger) and an Omega Stripey. The Stripey is older and has a clear acrylic base and black upper handle. It's also black badger. The Stripey is a little bigger and fuller. Omega makes so many shaving brushes that the only difference may be the handle. If the $10 difference isn't a deal breaker, the Omega is nicer. I have not been disappointed with the Tweezerman though. I think the pure and best badger brushes are actually easier to learn to make lather. So, whichever one you get, learn how to make lather with the brush. It shouldn't take more than an hour. If it does, ask for help on the site and you'll get quick responses. Make sure you read the thread (sticky) from "Joel" in the brushes section. There are many good posts on making lather.

Try having a look at Classic Shaving's selection of shaving brushes. They have a wide variety from several makers, and their prices are not bad. :001_rolle
