What's new

Nearly a Month

It has been about a month that I started on my DE Wet Shaving journey.
A few things I learned in this past month: That a blade sample pack is essential when starting out. I have learned that trying different soaps and creams produce different results. That this does not have to be huge expensive outpouring of money, you still can get great shaves on a budget.
Every shave has improved as my technique has improved. Not that I am not working and learning to slow down in my life. That my morning routine is my alone time. I take a long shower to loosen my arthritis from the stiffness of sleeping. While I am showering my brush is soaking in hot water. Then I begin using either soap or cream build really nice lather. Lather up, shave slowly with very little pressure. A DE blade does not the pressure you put on when using a multi-blade cartridge. One pass north to south, expect my chin
east to west. Lather for the second and shave. Result is BB shave.
DE Wet shaving is a treat that I enjoy every morning. I rinse my face splash
my face with Aqua Velvet, then let it dry and then apply some after shave balm.
End result is I feel great for the whole day. DE Wet Shaving is so luxurious.
Shaving with vintage Fat Boy is a joy. It is amazing that after 50+ yeas of service the Fat Boy still produces a great shave.
I wish I found shaving this way years ago, instead putting mediocre shaves at a premium price.
My advice to newbies, it get a sampler pack of blades, stick with it, it is a learning curve, enjoy shaving.
