I watched him as a kid, one of the greatest. RIP Jerry West.

Zeke from Cabin Creek. Lakers announcer Chick Hearn used to call West that after another of his many great court feats.

West and Sandy Koufax were both born back East but ended up becoming two of old Los Angeles' most beloved sports heroes.

IIRC, the NBA has never formally confirmed that the logo is actually Jerry West. (If they did, they'd have to pay him royalties.)

Jerry West had been on record saying the logo should change to Jordan.

Well, we know that won't happen, as for sure it'd cost them royalties after the change.
