Mystery Edge Razor Blades

I checked out the local antique mall today and stumbled across these. Anyone seen them before?

A little too expensive for my university budget, but I snapped an iPhone pic to share...

I actually have a few of those that I was debating on shaving with....

Anyway,,, they're from the WWII era,,, which is why they are so expensive (and still horribly overpriced).... The full display is quite rare,, however.....

They were sold in the PX's along with many other brands,,, as the GI's of the early 40's were just like us when it came to blades....

There was an earlier variant of the packaging that had a "rising sun" logo that must have become a 'tough sell' after Pearl Harbor....

(not my pic)

It's kind of interesting how they kept the clearly Japanese-styled brand logo after ditching the "rising sun',, then added the "Made in USA" yet tried to make the blades appear to come from the Middle-East (surely it would be the other way around these days)....

Giganto-antique mall near me has a very similar Mystery Edge display - same amount of blades, more or less, with different art - for way less than what they're asking.

Good info! Thanks. The whole display looked neat. This is in a booth that usually has a few (overpriced) shave related things
