My Stomach Does Not Like the Scent of Eucalytpus

I have a physical reaction to the scent of eucalyptus. You know the feeling that queasy feeling you get from motion sickness? That's the exact feeling I get after taking a whiff of the eucalyptus scent in products like Proraso soap, RazoRock 888, Santa Maria Novella shaving cream, or Malaspina Eucalyptus soap.

I took a whiff of the new Proraso shaving soap several minutes ago and my stomach is still doing small circles. The scent doesn't make me gag nor does it seem unpleasant to my nose. Weird, I know.

Anyone else have this reaction from eucalyptus or any other scent?

I love the smell of the Proraso and my body doesn't reject it. I have not tried the new formula and someday I will. Though I dont think I like the smell of my Musgo shaving cream.

i didn't think i liked eucalyptus scents either, as i had proraso when i 1st started and it did not smell good to me. i just recently picked up 888 and love it. i find it to be a very fresh, clean smell and not repulsive in any way.

i have yet to smell SMN, but i hope to one day

Some people do have that kind of reaction to eucalyptus or other plants/flowers. Some products are made from eucalyptus flower, while others are made from other parts of the plant. eucalyptus opens up your senses/nostrils. That's why in ancient time when someone caught a cold they told him/her to boil eucalyptus in water and then inhale the scent.

It sounds to me like you have a sensitivity to eucalyptus and it is something you should avoid. If you have sensitivities or allergies it is more likely you will react to an essential oil. If you have hayfever you need to avoid chamomille.

The only problem I've had with any scent so far is the opening scent of the new formulation of Speick's EdC.
