This morning for the first time I get to use my brand-new/old 1951 Gillette rocket, in my opinion the rocket is a very good double edge razor but for me the TTO razors don't seem to work as well as the older Gillette razors. This morning I got all lathered up with a brand-new Astra blade in my rocket and took a swipe down my cheek, I purposely waited four days to shave so that I would be able to compare it with one of Gillette's 1930 NEW razors
As usual the TTO razor left most of the hair on my cheek. For me the Gillette TTO razors don't seem to work very well so I'm going back to my Gillette NEW, it never lets me down and with one stroke the hair is gone. With the NEW I can feel the blade against my face and with a sharp blade I get a very good shave
So here's me giving up on any Gillette TTO, I find them good for collecting but that's about it. Al Newman

Sorry to hear about your experience. It is not surprising, however, that an OC whacks a 4 day growth better. How does the Rocket work on a 1 day growth? They do look great in the collection.
I've found the Rocket a very mild shave, and not to my personal taste. The Slim Adjustable set between 7 and 5 gives me a much better shave.
I would try using it observing your normal shave schedule to see how it works for you in a real life situation. Or are you saying you do not shave often normally?
