Just built this, I don't know how to play and I am missing two strings but I will get them and at least my brother can use it to entertain me while I am smoking some cigars.

I know very little about guitars, especially electric.... but that is a cool looking setup.
What's the pickup? Sure is a pretty axe, and definitely your own!
Electric guitars are passive, a small electrical signal is generated by magnetic effects between the pickup magnet and the vibrating string. The amplifier boosts that signal to a level you can actually hear. Listening to an unplugged electric guitar does tell you a lot about how it will sound plugged in, though.
Now go buy some damned strings and an electronic tuner.Get one that plugs into the guitar, the kind that use a mic are finicky, especially on electrics.
... worked the cigar box to the exact same specs and put all of the components from the Peavey in it.
I use a BOSS TU-2. tuner. That thing is a workhorse.
to the op or anyone else who might know-- do you get decent resonance from the cigar box? would it be able to double as an acoustic? i realize the box is not made to spec for the specific resonant frequencies, but you should be able to get some sort of volume out of it, however small...
Without a sound hole, you won't get much passive amplification, so no, I doubt you'd be able to play it effectively unplugged. However, the hollow body will make it sound more like an acoustic when it is amped up. Really the only way to know how she sounds is get her tuned up and play a few songs.
