New to the Brown Leaf

Well, at least new to the Brown Leaf section of B&B. I have been a member of B&B since 2013 after finding the forum after getting into wet shaving. Back then I was only smoking cigars. Over the last few months I have been smoking pipes, which is something I tried years ago for a short while and I think at the time I just preferred the convenience of cigars. I have been lurking around here for a while and have really been enjoying and learning from the content, just thought I would drop in and say Thank you! BTW as I am typing this I am enjoying a bowl of PS Luxury Navy Flake in a Savinelli Porto Cervo Smooth 310KS.

Glad you joined us here, all in all, some pretty good fellows in these threads!

Welcome, BigJim,

It sounds like you are off to a running start with both leaf and pipe. I've tried LNF, but I'm gravitating back to Luxury Twist Flake and their Luxury Bullseye Flake; have you tried those?

Welcome aboard.

This is a great place to hang out for pipe smokers. Unlike most of the other pipe places on the web, it's not infested with group think, and people telling you how things should be done. Even weirdos like me, with cheap pipes, lean cellars, and **** poor photography are welcome. :biggrin1:

it's definitely the most relaxing and welcoming online smoke lounge that I have found. :pipe:

Yes, I have. The PS Luxury Flakes are all that I am smoking right now. I am actually smoking a bowl of LBF at this very moment. I really enjoy the sweetness of LTF but it really seems to me, a little light on Vitamin N. LNF falls right in the middle of the three and I find it very satisfying anytime of day. Sometimes I decide I just want a bowl of LBF or I smoke it for a little extra nicotine kick. A friend who spent many years in the tobacco industry turned me on to PS Flakes knowing that use to enjoy McClelland 2010 before they shut down.

My trick, if I want a little wake-up zing in the morning, is to mix some Rattray's Stirling Flake in with another Va or a burley. Stirling, I'm told, is notoriously strong -- I've never smoked it by itself; I'm a lightweight. I can only get about ten minutes out of C & D's Crooner, for instance, before I start feeling weird. (I mix that into something milder, too.)

My local cigar-and-pipe shop usually carries all three of the Luxury flakes in bulk, so I can get them here.
