The top cap does look like is has a bit of a smile to it.
The strange thing is that it doesn't just look like it was dropped or something. It looks somewhat symmetrical
its possible that it was kept together for many years and when someone tried to Twist it off it wouldn't come off, so they pried it some, and maybe bent it a little, just a Theory ) . I have a Razor here i cant get the cap to twist off, but i'm going to drown it in WD-40 Soon so i avoid prying it open in the above manner /The strange thing is that it doesn't just look like it was dropped or something. Does the top cap curve have any effect on a blade?
Congratulations on your new Grand Shave King!
From looking at mine more closely, I can see a very minor curve up. Meaning, as I look at it from that same angle, it is not a straight line on top. But from your foto, yours does look slightly more pronounced. But maybe this is from the extra large foto too. And, from the foto also, the blade plate looks as if the comb teeth are hollow..but I am sure that is just the picture too.
I would try it out. Remember, this razor feels mild. For me, I simply get a real smooth shave. Some men may think it is not aggressive enough. For me, I rather like not have my ankles nicked.
Also, if you have a nice HEAVY handle lying about, go ahead and switch the handles. There is NO JOY in accidently dropping the razor and seeing its little neck break in front of your eyes. If your razor slips between your fingers or if it falls off the side of the tub, the heavier handle will more than likely spare you a tragic moment.
I kind of think yours is going to shave just fine. Let us know.
Congrats. If the cap has Self-lubricating writ on it then that curve is normal. How I know that? Because mine just looks like yours.
Ooh, noooo. Recipe for disaster.Looks like it can be easily straighten out ?
