My New Gillette Monobloc

Hello everyone,

I thought I'd share with you guys an uncommonly seen Gillette: the Monobloc.

I've only seen the set the Achim has on Mr. Razor. His Monobloc comes with a yellow plastic case. As you will see mine has a smaller red plastic case.

Very nice. I believe it is the wrong case for it, but maybe Gillette also offered them in that case. This is a great collectors razor as it is fairly rare.

When it was up, I couldn't exactly ID it. Especially given the minimalist title: "Vintage Gillette safety razor"

Is the handle alumunim, nickel-plated brass or steel?

Very nice find! The case looks like a No24 Tech case, that comes in different colors.

I was wondering if it was the wrong case. I was hoping it wasn't! But as Achim said it does look like No. 24 case.

Can't say I've really seen a monobloc. Looks like a British SS. How does it differ? Very neat!

The Monobloc has a smooth tto knob while Rockets have two milled lines, like 40s Superspeeds.

That blue-yellow (inoxydable) blade bank looks fancy, is it a paper wrap or plastic?
