My Modest (But Growing) Shave Den

The duck display stand was given to my by my son over 20 years ago, the wooden Avon Shaving Bowl and BurmaShave brush belonged to my Dad and the recently acquired Gillette Black Beauty razor with the matching, fully restored Ever Ready brush arrived in the mail just today.

The knot on the all black Ever Ready is amazingly SOFT!

These straight razors belonged to my Dad also, from the top down, a Universal, an Arabic, and a Double Duck. My Dad used these straights with the Avon bowl and BurmaShave brush for more years than I can remember. It was not until he developed a shake in his hands that he had to switch to an electric razor. I only hope to be in good a shape as he was when I am that "seasoned".
RIP Dad

"Modest" is used as a relative term here. That is quite a impressive collection and its really cool to have some sentimental value/ties to some of your stuff that you can keep and use indefinitely.

You have a very nice collection. The best part is that you have something from your Dad that you can use for life. He will always be with you. Great Pictures.

Wow, nice assortment of handles. The Dubl Duck looks to be in beautiful shape. You already have an impressive assortment of shaving tools.

You have truly been blessed.

Great collection. Love the handles for your DE89 (?) head. I think you need some open combs though  .

Ben

Yes, all the handles fit the DE89, as far as the open combs go I don't think my face can handle something that aggressive. Having sensitive skin and wire like beard growth makes for a touchy shave proposition as it is. :wink2:

Open Combs are not necessarily aggressive. Try a NEW short comb. You will not be disappointed.
