My Klenzo Butterscotch!

I just got this in the mail today. It's a beautiful vintage Klenzo catalin butterscotch w/ TGN UK Super Knot (21mm/45mm loft). It has a cool 'marbling' or 'patina' to it. I can't wait to lather it up and give it a go!

I thought I'd share a pic of it.

I gotta find me some butterscotch... this sport is truly a sickness... when I started a few months ago I was like "whats up with butterscotch?" now I gotta have it!

I started in this 'sport' (I kinda like that term) back in January. I have been the same way about butterscotch. I didn't really see what the big deal was to so many folks around here.

I saw Joe list this brush and, honestly, didn't really care at first. I kept looking at it and thought.. I really like the shape of that handle... and the knot size is exactly right up my alley. It's too bad it's butterscotch.

The more I looked, the more I thought I just might go for it anyway. When I finally decided to PM him about it, he already had two PM's in front of me! I was third in line. Alas, destiny prevailed and it found its way to Oklahoma. It's a beautiful brush and I'm glad I waited this long to take the butterscotch plunge. I believe I have hit a homerun with this one.

Now that I have it in hand, and have used it, it was a bargain and one of my best buys ever! That knot is superb! It's a nice change of pace from my D01 and a bit softer. It performed wonderfully with thee 'ol MWF. It's a KEEPER and I'm glad Joe decided not to keep it. (Thanks once again, Joe)

Interesting take on it vs. the D01. The shavemac finest I got from you definitely seems softer than this klenzo was. I've had my eye on a D01 3-band extreme flat top for awhile now to give my 2-band a brother. Very interesting indeed.

My D01 is of the 2 band variety. It's an 18mm knot set at a 48mm loft. It's really dense with quite a bit of backbone. I think that tends to make it 'less soft' and adds a bit of 'scritchy' to it, which I like. The finest you got from me is definitely softer than my D01. Again, I think due to the small knot coupled with the density. A bigger D01.. that I don't know about!

Ohh, OK I didn't know you had the 2-band variety as well. I will agree with you on the backbone and density. Though I find the tips of mine silky soft.

Well, I was one of the 2 PMs that had sneaked in ahead of you, and I am kicking myself hard for letting this one go.
