I just purchased a Parker 60R Butterfly Open Double Edge Safety Razor & 5 SHARK Super Chrome blades from Amazon. anyone have any information on this Razor and blades for a beginner.

That will get you started on the various aspects of shaving with a DE. In addition to the razor itself, there is a strong focus here on the other aspects of traditional wet shaving, including using a shaving brush and traditional soap or cream, instead of canned foams/gels. For most, this adds a lot to the shaving experience and provides better hydration to the beard and reduces irritation better than the canned stuff.
You might also consider looking on youtube for shaving videos. There are excellent instructional videos available - probably most notable from "mantic59" (just search for his name there).
