What's new

My first B&B shave today!

I am Merkur fanboy but have decided to broaden my horizons by trying other razors too. So today I used only stuff recently bought from fellow members of B&B.

I got a Stahly razor, which works fine, from taco8slo. That is my first wind up razor and it is a hoot! However for today, I combined the Stahly head with a Griest brass handle - a lovely piece of engineering. This is a great combination but to be honest I think both the handle and the head could work brilliantly on almost anything else.

I chucked in an Astra SP blade which someone chucked into a packet, though I do have a load of them anyway.

My brush today was Simpson Eagle from StuMcB - this is a super soft brush and I like it.

The cream I used was a Truefitt & Hill sampler from joshmv. So much cream - I could have done my wife's legs too with it (she has legs like bear skin) (actually she does not, I better delete that before she reads it). I finished up with a Real Shave Co balm (sorry, forgot who sent it).

My usual would be fatboy or Merkur, Kent BK 2 brush, Tabac soap, Prosaro balm.

Anyway, I love receiving packets with "new" toys to try but usually I would only change one thing at a time, to make comparisons easier.

Sounds like you have been busy collecting all sorts of shaving accouterments from fellow B&B members.

Life is good :001_smile

It certainly is. I did not know what the fuss over Simpson brushes was all about, so I am glad I do now!

Only downside is that most of you guys are USA based and it is expensive to import to the UK. Or maybe that it a good thing as it will discourage me from spending too much money.:001_smile

I know I certainly appreciate you chiming in asmany of us have helped newbies to never hear from them again. Thanks for hanging around! As for the being overseas excuse that's not going to cut it.:hand: Australia has no problems so HOP TO IT! Start collecting at your fairs and most important of all enjoy.:thumbup1:
