What's new

My daily ritual...

Post #7500. Here is what I have learned. No matter how much money you spend, there are certain things you like to use. No matter how many soaps, creams, razors, blades, straights, brushes, strops, whatever, that you buy, at some point you reach the "perfect" shave. I've found my match.

My daily gear:

C&E Best Badger brush
T&H 1805
Merkur 38C Razor
Israeli Personna blades
Thayers After Shave Splash (Lavender or Rose)

That is it. I have a multitude of options, but this is my morning ritual.

Randy,

Thanks for sharing that. I am looking forward to eventually finding my perfect combo, but for now, I'm having a great time getting there!

Just curious...how long did it take you to find this? and how many of each items in each category have you tried?

Thanks !!!

That 1805 is great stuff. It's smooth as silk and whips up in absolutely no time at all. It sure is pricy stuff, though. I'm still in the trial and error stage of the development. Right now, it's all about the perfect razor blade.

Sounds really great! I can't wait for the day I find the perfect set up, and no matter how horrible my days going, my shave makes it all better! But until than, I'll have to keep adding items to my den :tongue_sm:lol:

Randy, Long time to talk to.

I just have to say that although I don't have a set combination (I'm still trying different creams and aftershaves and blades and such), most of the time I use the Gillette Superspeed that you graciously donated to me almost 4 years ago! It works like a charm! Thank you again and again.

Congrats on finding your perfect set up! I cant wait and I plan on having fun searching.

+1 on the 1805 I got a sample of it and it was great stuff, nice lather and great smell.

I don't think I could do the math! Way too many items. I still switch things up from time to time, maybe a more luxurious brush, some of the Taylor's creams, different T&H soaps. I just find this to be the combo that I enjoy the most on a daily basis.

I have the 1805 as well. Love it! I have a very hefty ceramic mug that I let soak with my brush in hot water while I take my shower. The mug retains heat very well, so every re-lathering I do during my shave is still warm! (without the help of a heater, etc.)
