What's new

My Birthday Present

For my birthday today my wife got me a Pilot Metro with the converter and syringes. As my second pen, so far I am really liking it. I loaded it up with some Kraken that I had gotten from the pass around box and started to give it a try.

For an inexpensive pen it has some weight which feels comfortable in my hand. The balance feels good un-posted, I prefer the extra weight of having the cap posted. The nib seems a little scratchy but writes very well. For a medium nib it certainly is a fine medium. Which is fine with me. My Esterbrook has a med and sometimes it is too thick. I'm a printer and tend to write small.

Anyway, overall I think I will really enjoy this pen.

Happy birthday

Great gift as well Im glad you love it, I dont know to many who are not in love with those Metro pens, they sure seem to be a home run

Happy birthday!!

quick question on the new pen though: It comes with the converter and syringes? I received a few ink samples and been looking for a pen that would allow me to try them.

The pen comes with a sac converter that you squeeze to fill which works just fine. The syringe is extra but makes it a heck of a lot easier to fill from samples. She also go me the scew type converter, which I like so I can see how much ink is left in the pen. Also, you can't see through the sac converter so it is easy to over fill (trust me on that one). For a inexpensive pen it seems very well built. I like the metal body so I can carry it in my pocket and not worry about it getting too beaten up.

I've only been using FP for a short time, but for using samples I think a syringe is the only way to go. It makes it really easy to fill for a beginer.

Great thanks for the info! Sounds like the perfect pen to sample some inks!
