When I started wetshaving a few months ago, I purchased a Tweezerman. Although it was a little too prickly for my face, it was still pleasant to use. About a month ago, I won an Omega Syntex via PIF. Around the same time, my fiance started showing interest in wet shaving...
Since I'm a college student with a very limited budget, I just gave her some of my supplies ('56 SS, The Tweezerman, some Tabac and Arko, and a few packs of Derby's) which left me stuck with the Omega brush. I was skeptical before using it, but was very impressed by its ability to lather, as well as its softness which didn't irritate my face at all.
Yesterday I was at my Fiance's house and needed to shave before heading out for the evening. Since I hadn't thought ahead, I just used the stuff I'd given her. The tweezerman was still too abrasive for me but I noticed one thing it did SIGNIFICANTLY better than the Syntex... The brush held heat well enough to still be warm on the second pass despite sitting in the open air on the counter, which is never the case with the Omega.
It could be coincidence, but I though it was a very interesting discovery. As always, I'm sure YMMV. Has anyone else noticed something similar?
