Actually a woman with thinning hair is much more scary than a man losing his hair 
My hair started thinning out when I was about 25. By 27, it was quite noticable. I had a few people give me a hard time. I told them one more time, I'd show them bald. Well...it happened. I went home, locked myself in the bathroom, and came out shiny! I've never looked back (unless you count laziness...lol).
I've thought about shaving my head more often, but a trimmer once every week or two works as well, with a different look. I've had at least one person tell me that I looked more intimidating/less friendly with a completely shaved head compared to a short trim (2 mm or so). I wonder what the general populace thinks . . .
I also need to try my Phoenix open comb on my head, as it glides easily and is even less likely to nick than my Tech. I may not get BBS, but on my scalp that is secondary to not bleeding.

Never make comments abut your spouse's appearance unless it positive. Trust me you'll live longer. And be happier! After all we all know our shortcomings and don't need reminders.
