MWF is smelly and Tabac stinks

So says SWMBO I actually like both scents but the flak I'm getting is kinda getting to me she does not like any of the trufit and hill as or cream scents but she does like the proraso as, and doesn't mind the aos soap, any suggestions on a soap she might like? Samples are always welcome and advice praised!

What does she like? Fruit scents, certain colognes, plants, etc. I'm glad my wife loves the smell of Tabac, MWF, and even Arko.

EDC is the cologne, there's only one TABAC! shave soap.

How long have you had the TABAC! The scent really does mellow an awful lot after a little use.

Neither soap has a perceptible odor post-shave, at least for me. Concentrate on finding an AS/cologne that she likes. Keep your excellent soaps for great shaves for you. Everybody wins.

Seriously, although I haven't bought from them (and shame on me for not yet doing so), Mama Bear and Prairie Creations might have scents you could agree upon. Check what sorts of scents she likes and order similar scent from Mama Bear and/or Prairie Creations. If, aside from the smell, you liked Tabac for the tallow content, Prairie Creation whole line of shaving soaps uses tallow.

My SWMBO loves the smell of tabac. I Have a puck of MWF to try out too. I sometimes put the excess tabac lather into my hair to carry on the whole tabac experiance throughout the day as I don't own the EDC yet.

No, everybody won't win. Much as I hate to rain on your parade, you need to trust me on this one. His wife sounds kind of like mine, who likes virtually none of my scents (with the exception of some rose & bay rum, which, to quote her, "aren't terrible").

To the OP: Dude, use what you like. This is your little corner of heaven we're talking about here. Chad's right -- the soaps' odors dissipate promptly post-shave. So as long as she stays out of the bathroom while you're raking the leaves, peace should prevail.

As far as colognes go, that could be a stickier business. With me, once I'm gone for work I don't see my wife till late in the evening. So I pretty much wear what I want; it's fairly well gone by the time I get home. If your situation is different you might need to go through some trial & error with her. Be prepared for lots of error.

AOS soap is as good as it gets, and it comes in 4 flavors. What's the issue?

that is preposterous, I think MWF has the cleanest, most sophisticated scent off all my soaps, and I have both Pen's. I still hate the lather, though--it's more difficult than learning how to straight shave.

Having ordered from Mama Bear, Prairire Creations, and Honeybee, I can give you my advice.

Honeybee and MomaBear are both gylcerin soaps, and ship really quicly. The soaps smell wonderful. The honeybee is _maybe_ a bit less stong smelling but better lathering, but that's a MAYBE.

Prairie Creations is a tallow soap that's evidently hand-made to fill each order. Thus, an order takes a while to go through. From the others on this board, I decided to try PC and I'm still waiting on my order to be processed and shipped. I'm sure it's AWESOME stuff though.

So, if you're in a hurry I'd suggest either Mama Bears or Honeybee (both are excellent) or if you have time to wait and you like the feel of tabac, try Prairire Creations.

The French shea butter soaps are lightly scented and do wonderful things for your skin. The smell of the soap is actually very different from what the lather and your skin will smell like. Pre de Provence, Provence Sante, and Institute Karite, try any of them, the ladies "don't hate them"......

I actually don't like the smell of either MWF or Tabac myself, but I'm in the minority on those.
Get yourselft some L'occitane Cade. Great stuff and smells awesome, and my wife does like that one!
