MWF-How good is this Stuff?

My brothers I keep hearing about Mitchells Wool Fat and I have to ask as a Newbie still, what's the Hoopla about? Can y'all enlighten me about what I must be missing? I feel like a lost sheep, PUN intended.:biggrin1:

It has a nice clean scent, not any heavy perfumes in it which is refreshing. It makes a very slick smooth lather. It is just a good product.

There are many good-performing soaps out there. MWF is one of them, and a favourite of mine. You owe it to yourself to try at least a sample.

For me its because it makes for the smoothest shave I can get. My skin feels great after using it and the scent isn't over-powering (although some people don't like the subtle scent).

if i were loading up my shaving cabinet from a cold start today, knowing what i know now, i would buy MWF and tabac and that would be it for soaps.

As with any other shave soap, you will find people who love it, people who think it's just OK and people who think it's overrated. My opinion is that it's an excellent soap, but not the easiest to lather up properly. Considering it's reasonable price and large availability, it's certainly worth trying IMHO.

One of my top performers that will always be in my rotation. It's just a perfect soap for me for scent and lather. I think clouds in heaven are made of MWF.

I've used it forever. Very nice soap with a mild clean scent, great protective lather and lasts a very long time. If I had only two choices of soap/cream to use for the rest of my life, they would be MWF & Cella.

Yes, you just have to try it, at least a sample. As said above, how good it is, or isn't, depends on who you ask. For me it was Wow! Fantastic!

OK guys it sounds like MWF is a must try. Where are the best places to acquire a speck of MWF for evaluation purposes??:thumbup1:

recently navigated away from this soap. I was always getting sub par shaves with it and never had it really "WORK" for me like some others say. On the other hand of things i just got a Gillette Rocket HD mint made in england so i might as well break out an english soap for this razor. Will try tomorrow and see how it works for me again

A must try, given its moderate price. There are many oher good soaps most of them I have not tried.

MWF:
-lathers well,
-is very protective, I am least apt to see blood and have irritation when using MWF,
-if I get nicked, I seem to stop bleeding faster using MWF,
-my skin feels softer,
-MWF has no strong scent that some find irritates skin,
-it lasts a long time,
-it is a hard soap that is not moldable to fit the mug, like Cella,
-it cracks and dries as it ages, I grate the last of my puck and pack it around my new puck.
