I know the ceramic dish adds a lot to the price. I know I have seen what would essentially be the same dish at times, but can't find anything online. I searched things such as "ceramic soap dish round" "ceramic bowl with lid" etc, but can't seem to find one. I know my mother-in-law used to have one just like it that she kept on the counter filled with cotton balls and q-tips, but she got rid of it when they remodeled the bathroom. Anyone ever found something like this?

if you have any flea markets / antique malls around you, those are great places to find all kinds of make shift shaving bowls, soap dishes, etc. I have a small pewter dish that is a perfect shave bowl that I paid $3 for. Works just as good as this:

Yes, am I essentially trying to find the same Mitchell's dish, just rebranded. Think of how both AdP and TFS use the same plastic tub or how Fitness and Proraso use the same tub. I am pretty sure I have seen the exact same ceramic dish, just without the MWF branding...or thereabouts.
Why is it important to get the EXACT SAME dish? You can find a number of perfectly suitable dishes to hold a puck of soap. I got this for $6 at Homegoods, pictured with a puck of MWF....I'm pretty sure that it's made out of Marble or some other quality stone.
I used to have my MWF in a wood bowl that I had, but just got the bowl on the last order, and it is worth it. I love the bowl.
I thought the bowl was overpriced too at first. But after going through a couple refill pucks, I liked the Mitchell's so much, I decided to part with a buck, and get the bowl.
I wondered the same thing but it appears it is printed into the lid. I could very well be wrong.

Mine's a couple years old, it isn't for sure a glued on paper label, I can't get any purchase with a thumbnail around the pattern, which I'd say is painted on .. but not being a soap dish embellisher, don't quote me.

It's silk-screened or printed. It's definitely some kind of paint and is never coming off.
I was thinking of glueing some thin rubber to the bottom of my dish to prevent slides off the counter. I would hate to have to buy another dish.If you find something let me know....

As people have said it is imprinted on the container...I almost think it is placed under the glase, but I am not a master in this regard
