Muhle Travel Brush

I just came across this Muhle travel brush. The knot is 21 mm knot. I was considering a Muhle synthetic as a travel brush and wonder if any of you have any experience with this one.

I own one of those. It is a nice brush, perhaps a little more difficult to build a good lather, especially if you like to use harder soaps. Better with a softer soap. I find it also works to use a cream -- put a dollop on the brush, and face lather directly from that. Drying mechanism works nicely and protects the dopp kit.

It works well for me, but face lathering with sticks takes somewhat longer than I'm used to. For some reason water holds up in the knot base, but the tips dry out almost immediately. This causes face lathering with sticks to be a bit slow. It creates plenty of lather, but isn't really able to hold much in the knot.

Now that I've used the V2 version of Mühle's silvertip fiber brushes, I would highly recommend that you try your best to verify the STF version. If it's V1, I would pass on it. V2 is simply that good. I doubt the travel brush is V2.

Thanks, Jim.

I use this brush for travel. The case is great and I like the quick drying of the synthetic. IMHO the performance of the knot has not lived up to the hype.

I own one of those. It is very convenient for travel, dries fast even inside the tube. The knot is differently shaped than the ordinary Muhle Silvertip fibre, the loft feels higher and the backbone is more pronounced. It feels remarkably different compared to the ordinary Silvertip Fibre of which I have two (21 and 19 mm).
