More ID help

Please refer to ID Help thread for background. These pictures show my concerns about the head of this Single Ring Old. Note the machined marks on the edge, and the sharpness of the teeth. My final guess, for what it's worth, is a Gillette clone, or a strange bunch of machining during repair. Any more educated guesses than mine would be appreciated. The rest of the razor, case and blade cases appear original. The threading checks out at 10-32, which would indicate US manufacture.

Other than it being a clone, it's possible it could be a Gillette prototype. It's in the right time frame case (script Gillette logo) and has no serial numbers or markings, both of which make such a scenario possible. Highly unlikely, but anything's possible.

Looking at the teeth sharpness on yours and the teeth sharpness on this set, they are the same - at least to my eyes.

Looking at the middle row of the photos you posted, those teeth seem more rounded at the tips than mine - mine are actually sharp, not smoothly rounded. I wonder if this could be a factory reject that somehow found its way to market? I love mysteries!

I saw the same thing. The teeth look to be squared off at the tips. The tool marks and indented blade guard looks like some surgery was done on this guy.
