Wow, you've run the gauntlet haven't you? I bet those blades that you rated "5" and below left you in a good mood after the shave.

The most painful shave I had was with the Derby. The burn took 2 hours to fade. The rest of the low ratings were ineffective blades. The treet classics cut as much beard as the razor without a blade.

Why the '1' for Wally Personnas? Hospital trip? Looks like some sort of trauma occurred with that score compared to the others.

Treet Classic Dura-sharps did not even get a rating, so they are currently the worst. The Wally Personnas were more dull than the keynote speech at Annual Bolt and Washer convention.

No trauma, just wasted time.

I don't know -- I find bolts and washers to be quite fascinating.

Well, the verdict is in on a few,

Super-Max Platinum - 7.5
Wilkinson India - 7
Perma-sharp (Turkish) - 9.25

The super-max platinums are good blades, but I don't think they are worth the $0.20 a blade. I might keep 100 around for variety, but that is about it. The India Wilkinsons are decent, a slight step down from the platinums, but a good blade. Again, not worth what I have to pay for them.

The real story is the perma-sharp. According to Melyus, these are being produced out of St. Petersburg. They are very sharp and a tad smoother than the 7 O'Clock Sharp Edge or the Iridium. Very nice blade.
