Perhaps a final run with the Rubie seeing that I have been drawing blood all shaves with this blade. I still think it performs above average. I will grant it one final shave to get to 7.

Mother's Day Sunday Modern May shave #6 rated 9.25/10 using:

• Razor: Fatip Lo Storto Open Comb Slant (a little scary to me)
• Blade: English Wilkinson Super Sword (7)
• Brush: Omega 10098 Barber’s Boar (a favorite)
• Pre-shave: Noxzema
• Soap: Dutch Kox Bergamot (the gift of @Guido75 that keeps giving)
• Post shave: Thayer’s unscented Witch Hazel followed by Old Spice splash and Stirling Christmas Eve balm

I pulled my FOCS for the first time in about a year. This razor presents a LOT of blade for my taste and feels scary to me, but it does a very efficient job. I still feel like I need to be super careful using it. Today's result was a good one overall. I'm left wondering whether I'll have any lingering irritation. I don't think so, but only time will tell.

This soap is just so good. Nothing fancy, just excellent, slick, cushiony lather with a pleasant subtle scent that leaves my face feeling well cared for.

@GBerry suggested I use a drop of glycerin with my Van der Hagen soap. I thought my hyaluronic from amzn was slick enough. Gene was right and I wasn’t. Was already using an Overlander razor; neck and neck with the Blackland Blackbird for exceptional performance in a $$$ razor; and it got even bettter! Also, I better use the Blackbird soon again. It’s neck and neck with the Overlander for close, comfortable shaves in my opinion.
