Mikes Natural PIF

A small PIF here but may possibly turn somebody on to this very nice product...

I have a .5 oz sample size of Mike's Unscented shaving soap that came to me with a recent order. I have a tin of the "Barber Shop" scent and a stick of the "Peppermint & Rosemary" and both are seeing quite a bit of use. This is really good shaving soap in every way (slickness, scent, latherability, not to mention price & service) and one of my favorite new products.

Only requirement is you need to have never tried this product to claim it. First "I wannit" gets it.

PIF has been claimed!

Great PIF!!! Not it.

I'd be all over this but my tin of Mike's Orange, Cedarwood and Black Pepper came in the mail yesterday. I had a 'blind' (no test lather) shave this morning and it was delightful. I got a sample of the Barbershop and it smells amazing, I also have a Semogue 830 that should be arriving and I will be using the Barbershop sample to defunk the boar.

That orange, cedarwood & black pepper sounds very interesting, likely my next choice after these are used up.

I'm still pretty new, but I would love to try Mike's soap. I was born without a sense of smell, so I was going to go after his unscented anyway whenever I could get away with it with the wallet.

I wannit, if you're willing!

The scent was a little different than I expected. The best way I can describe it is it smelled like "an orange that got some dirt on it" but when I lathered it this morning, the dirt smell was gone and there was a subtle orange aroma. I don't know when this tin will run out but I can tell you that my next order will be for some of his barbershop. The soap is great, my face felt great during and after the shave, plus it was easy to lather but i shoulda loaded the brush a little longer.

You know, "orange that got some dirt on it" is really not that surprising of a description for that soap:) The combination of fresh and citrus scents with something like cedar sounds interesting, I imagine it smelling like Terre D'Hermes which I wasn't a fan of at first but it ended up growing on me.

That orange, cedarwood & black pepper is an amazing smell but alas, my skin doesn't like it. But Mike's overall is wonderful to use.

How would you describe the smell? Neither my wife nor 3 yr old son liked the smell outta the tin. But they're not shaving with it so it doesn't really matter.

I think the scent grows on you from the first time you smell it. So give it a few shaves. The smell makes you feel as if you are in Florida, sitting on a picnic table and opening up an orange.

I'm not that into citrus scents but I still enjoyed it. However I like Bay Rum, Pine, Orange, Rose, and Lime in that order. I'd say I will re-order Bay Rum and might order Pine as well.

"orange that got some dirt on it" is the only was to describe it. But once its lathered its really more of a light orange scent that is quite pleasing. Its a joy to shave with and will probably be my fall soap. I also got a sliver of barber shop to try as a sample but not gotten around to it but, let me tell you the smell is amazing and will definitely be on my list of soaps to order from mikes

I agree the scent mellows out once lathered and it smells great, but outta the tin not so much "dirty orange." I will probably order some more mike's when my tin runs out, probably barber shop.
