i placed a quite low bid cause of the condition and if somebody asked me "hey will you win the auction" i would tell him no...
but now i won the set. i'm excited to see the condition and to do a nice cleaning job. +50bucks seems to be quite good but i cant understand why there are only 2 bidders. here is the link

should it be a 2 piece belmont or is it a normal new deluxe criterion? i know that there is the silver plated 2 piece belmont but in another case...

Sorry, Michael. If I'd known that it was you bidding on it I would've let you have it for $36 instead of pushing you up over $50. I think most people just saw it as a regular set in not the greatest condition, and overlooked the "Presented by King C. Gillette" imprint on the headliner completely.

It should be a regular three-piece set -- as far as I know the two-piece version was only made in England.

i bid on a razor as a second bidder too and you won it... it was the big boy... i think nearly every razor is safed by a b&b member thats awesome my highest bid was 56 i hope the condition is much better as the pictures are showing it

Belmont and Criterion are the same razors. The Belmont comes in a metal case and the Criterion in a leather case. They are chromium-, silver- or gold- plated and comes as two-piece and 3-piece razors.

I couldn't get past the crack and the poor pictures of the lining.

I was wondering when it was going to see some action.

This was a Holiday weekend in the US and I doubt the normal number of buyers were paying attention to eBay. I saw quite a few very good deals recently. If I wasn't out of the market I could have added quite a few razors and blades to my collection.

I only sneaked a few peeks at eBay on my cellphone between Saturday and this afternoon myself. It was a great Memorial Day weekend for sure.

Congratulations on scoring that set. I've not seen very many marked as presented by King C. Gillette. Good job!

I think this is the year we are going to be seeing more rare pieces, as collectors from back in the days are either passing away "God Bless There Souls" or some are needing the cash or some are just cashing out do to high demand and they rather have the cash to split Among kids who know nothing about razors, i can see alot of this happening, lets face it folks, where we are all heading we cant take anything with us including our beloved Razors / because we wont need anything in "Gods Kingdom" So lets have some fun while we can )

Yes, looks like a 3 piece to me. You should be able to see a crimp in the 2 piece.
