Merkur Slant 37c or 39C

Hi

It's about time I tried something different and quite like the idea of giving a slant a go but not sure whether to go for the standard handle or the barber pole.
Unfortunately I'll be buying mail order so can't actually feel what either feels like in the hand so thought I'd see what the general consensus is on here. I know at the end of the day it comes down to personal preference but it doesn't hurt to see what others went for !

I've had a slant HD for years and it's always been on the top of my list. Being a bigger person, 6'1", 217 and above average hands, I've always wanted to try the longer handle, but when it comes time to make that decision, I feel that I really like the one I have. Why change.

I also have the HD bar and a HD open comb. The Slant is the best of the three in my opinion.

If you already have the HD the slant HD is about the same weight, so I would go the 39C. I used mine this morning, it the second heaviest razor I have the Vision 2000 being the heaviest.

The 37C is essentially the same as the HD, but with the slant head (obviously). I have the 39C and I love it, but then again, I started with the 38C so it was pretty natural. I tried the 37C, but (maybe because I'm so used to the barberpole handle) it was too short. I will say that the barberpole handle really has alot more to hold on to. Plus the weight is pretty heavy, which I like, not that the 34C/37C isn't a lightweight.

I selected the 39C over the 37C because a longer handle and a heavier razor held certain advantages for me based on my personal shaving technique. I also like the look of the 39C as well.

as soon as I got my 39C I loved it so much that I BSTed my 37c, 34c and now I use it every day, the extra weight is great.
I can't imagine using anything else and it killed my RAD.
