Merkur 33C vs 34C

Hi everyone.

Okay, silly question here. I wanted a duplicate of my Merkur 33C razor, so I ordered one. Well, what arrived is (according to the "best nr." on the bottom and google cross referencing) appears to be a 34C-- it's bottom heavy, has a fatter handle, and is a 2 piece rather than a 3 piece design.

Here's my silly question. I really like the 33C and I'm considering contacting the seller via Amazon (mods-- please forgive me if it's not okay to say where I bought it and please correct me gently) and asking what we can do. What do you all think? Should I just let it go and keep the 34C? I'd really rather have the 33C and I don't want to get something I didn't pay for. (I'm afraid this 34C may be a more expensive razor, but I don't know anything about them.)

I'd appreciate everyone's thoughts/opinions. Thank you all, yet again, in advance!

I would contact the seller and see what you can do. If it's not what you ordered you should be able to get it exchanged or refunded.

Though the 34C is more expensive and gets a lot of love around here the 33C is my preferred razor of the two. When you wanted and ordered the 33C I suggest you contact the seller and swap it. Seems not so hard to do.

OK, first, I'm curious. Why would you want a duplicate??

Personally, I'd contact the seller. You didn't get what you wanted, and you didn't pay for what you got.

The 34C is the razor I prefer of the 2 you mentioned. The Long Handled Classic (23C I think) is my travel razor, and I prefer that one over the 33C.

However, it isn't my hands holding your razor.

Well, as for why I wanted a duplicate, it's an OCD thing I guess... hahaha.

But, I did contact the seller and the 33C was out of stock. They offered to let me keep the 34C and I offered to make up the difference in price, as it was a more expensive razor, but they told me not to worry about that. I was really impressed at the gesture.

I tried it and I actually like it. So, I think I'll keep it. Tried it with a Feather blade and I think I've found a combination that works very well. No complaints here!

I use a feather in a 34C and I am very happy with the result. I get close to BBS with no irritation in three passes. And I have a very coarse beard.

The again, the 34c is more expensive and if you don't have one, maybe its a mistake that could be blessing. Definitely contact the seller about if you aren't happy.
