Menthol addicts, I need your guidance

It's currently 26 degrees where I am, but such bitter weather hasn't hindered my love of mentholated shaving products. If anything, it has me reaching for the stuff even more!

I am, however, lacking in the AS department. I love the cooling effect of AV, but I find it too moisturizing. Upon application it is very soothing and makes my face feel great, but after a few hours my face becomes too oily, almost uncomfortably so. Also, though I do like the scent, I get pretty sick of it after having it under my nose all day. Man does that stuff linger.

I'm also pretty fond of the Proraso Pre/Post for those rare days where I do need something more moisturizing, and have never had a problem with it making my skin too greasy / oily. Most days, though, I prefer an alcohol splash.

So, can anyone recommend a cold splash that won't me shine like a new penny? Fleeting or subtle scents preferred as well.

I have recently found:

Classic after shave splash.

Sold in dollar general $1.75

Label says comparable to brut

Contains menthol and alcohol

Good stuff I recommend it.

I recently bought Osage Rub and man does it make your face feel cold! It stings the eyes a bit when it first goes on.

+1! I love the feel of Osage Rub, and will usually apply it after witch hazel. The smell doesn't seem to linger on me for too long, and once I can feel my face again, I put on non-mentholated AS over it.

I only recommend one aftershave splash, and it's Mandom Lucido which you can purchase at royalshave.com

It's got alcohol and menthol, but it doesn't burn at all, but just gives that menthol cool. It's moisturizing without being greasy at all. It's well balanced and best of all it's unscented so that it doesn't interfere with the cologne you use.

Alcolado Glacial and Limacol are pretty good and don't leave your face feeling oily. I bought bottles of both and added about a level teaspoon of menthol crystals to each. Talk about face freeze. Makes my eyes water a minute or so. Amazon has the Alcolado but I can't remember where I got the Limacol.

Two suggestions:

1) Buy a bottle of cologne which scent you like, add water to lower the alcohol degree at will, add glycerine to moisterize (up to 2% vol. if you have a dry skin), add menthol crystals (up to 10 g/l for something heavily mentholated, i. e. 1 g in a 3.3 fl oz bottle);

2) Buy a bottle of aftershave you like and add he menthol.

1 wt oz (US/UK) = 28.35 g
1 fl oz (US) = 0.02957 l
1 fl oz (UK) = 0.02841 l

Razorock 888 aftershave lotion has a good eucalyptus refreshing bite when in the cold air. The scent is gone within a minute and it offers 10-12 hours of protection. I use this and Razorock aftershave wax during the cold dry winter months.

Thanks Luc, I always seem to overlook the wiki for some reason.

Proraso and Osage Rub are definitely on the list at this point. A lot of other great suggestions as well. I'll be sure to check them all out once my wallet lets me

Any fans of Alt-Innsbruck? I've had my eye on it for a while, but ~$33 is a bit steep for a blind buy.
