What's new

Men, it's time to take back the movie theater

Pretty funny I will probably see the movie...on a side note. I just saw the "new" rambo a few days ago on Spike. Pretty decent...and wow was that movie was violent. I don't think Spike edited it at all. I bring this up because Sly was the director of that movie and the Expendables. Should be nice and violent, with lots of stuff blowing up(if you like that kinda thing).

Looks like the flick will be a lot of fun, but there is really nothing that will induce me into a theater......at least not in my area. There is (or was half a dozen years ago) a renovated old bijou type theater in San Louis Obispo that was spacious with very comfortable seats and a non-ear-assaulting sound system . Were I 2600 miles closer, I'd maybe consider showing testosterone solidarity, but circumstances being what they are, Sly and rest of the Biceps and Botox Brigade are going to have to soldier on without my $8.50.

I'll catch it on Blu Ray if I remember the title in three months.... The Expendable A-Team of Losers was it?

If it's half as good as Edgar Wright's other violent comedy gems (Hot Fuzz and Shaun of the Dead), then I agree.

Though The Expendables has the always awesome Terry Crews and the always awesomer Jason Statham... **** yeah!

But wait... something is missing... what could it be... Oh, yeah! This:

I loved all the great action movies of the 80's and early 90's (Conan, Predator, Commando, Rambo, etc.) However, call me skeptical if you like, I am really unsure about leaving the fate of a film in the hand of geriatric action stars and MMA fighters.

The only one in that movie NOT in shape is Arnold. The rest are ripped and cut.

That looks awesome.
The "manly" movie...looks meh.

Is that my neighbor, Paul Giamatti, as your avatar?

In regards to The Expendables... eh. Action movies are either a hit or miss with me. I either like them a lot, like Terminator 2, or can't stand them, like Terminator Salvation. I have a feeling that The Expendables is going to be, shall we say, not so good.

I am pretty certain that it is pretty much Stallone and Statham and that the other guys merely make appearances. From Mickey Rourke's appearance, it looks like he took a day off of filming Iron Man 2 to shoot his scenes.

I have yet to see a movie in theaters this summer. I might see Inception; and I might see this Scott Pilgrim movie. The new Harry Potter movie is really what I'm looking forward to.
