Maybe Things are Looking Up in the AR World

Ordered a S&W M&P 15 MOE Mid MagPul Series rifle on Feb 27. It arrived today. I'm saying 3 weeks isn't too awful long to wait for a product in such demand. Hell, I've waited longer for certain models of cell phones. Now let's hope this is a sign of good things on the horizon and the beginning of the madness ending. $1757_1_.jpg

Very nice firearm indeed. No, three weeks is not bad at all. I ordered three 20 round magazines from Armalite for an AR-10 3 weeks ago and I see that they have just shipped. Happier days may finally be on the horizon. Now if I could just get some ammo...

very nice ..!! MagPul hit it big on there aftermarket parts that they now sell on guns from the manufacturer .. it looks just like my Bushmaster !!
congrats !!

That's a nice looking weapon. I'm not a black rifle guy, but I do appreciate a good looking rifle.

In Iowa I am not seeing any improvement in the availability of any semi-automatic rifles nor pistols of any description. The bright spot is the supply of bolt action rifles. The shelves almost emptied in December, kept up with demand in January and February, but now seem to be recovering nicely.

Very nice. Im looking at getting one of those M&P 15 Sports(when I can find one) and outfitting it with some magpul accessories. I think im leaning towards everything in foliage green.

That's pretty good. At the gun shows, all of the decent AR's were going for a lot of money lately. Or maybe the tide is starting to turn. Gun legislation at the national level seems to have lost momentum (not meant as a political statement; just an observation). That might qualm some fears and have a positive impact on the market long term; will wait and see.

The vertical fore grip is nice feature. And while I am not keen on telescoping stocks (just me - I am probably in the minority), I like the flat top configuration, lots of flexibility. I bet that is one well-made rifle.

Good for you. An excellent rifle at an excellent price. I am sure it will hold it's value over time and then some.

That is a smoking deal nowadays on an excellent rifle. I've got over 24k rounds through my M&P 5.45x39 and I'm very happy with that weapon (especially since ammo is still less than half the price of 5.56.

What optic are you going with?

Great looking rifle. I've been waiting for 6+ months on a Saiga 7.62x39 which I want to convert into another AK build. My last build was more of a modern (AR type) feel. For this next build, I have a Combloc Customs wood stock set with an amazing finish on it. Definitely hoping I can find one of these around and complete my build...

Supply in Hawaii is getting better, but prices are still 30% above retail.

It does seem like rifles are becoming more available. I was in Bass Pro yesterday and they had a couple.

Ammo & pistols are a different story. Bare shelves in every gs I went to.

I was at a Gun Show this past weekend. I think venders have marked up their prices to the point where the consumer is really pushing back. I saw more desperation in the sellers and more resistance from buyers. Contrast this to November when I went to a show and things were being purchased willy nilly. I mean elbows and assholes were flying back in Nov., but this time around there were folks putting the rifles down and shaking their heads "no". I am also starting to see more inventory trickle in on line. Still got a ways to go, but the pendulum appears, to me at least, to be swinging the other direction.
